Baja Village devastated by fire

At least 50 hectares of forest burned in the small town of Santiago, 55 kilometers north of San José del Cabo. A fire in a palm tree forest in Baja California Sur damaged or destroyed at least 40 homes on Friday night. The fire burned about six hectares of forest, damaging dozens of properties. The area’s characteristic high winds blew the flames out of control.

Fonmar “Fishing in the Five”

 A new series of 53 fishing tourneys named “Fishing in the Five” will take place in the five municipalities (La Paz, Loreto, Los Cabos, Comondu and Mulege) of our Southern Baja state. They will be coordinated by Fonmar, the state’s fund for the protection of marine resources. Of the 53 tournaments, only 14 will allow catch of billfish and all include prizes for catch and release categories.

Sammy Hagar named Cabo San Lucas Ambassador

On January 5, 2022, legendary Rock and Roll Hall of Fame recipient Sammy Hagar was honored to be named the first Los Cabos Ambassador of Tourism during an award ceremony presided over by secretary of tourism, economics, and sustainability in Baja California Sur, Maribel Collins, municipal president of Los Cabos Oscar Leggs Castro, senator of the Mexican Republic Lucia Trasvina and director of tourism Donna Jeffries.
