Fish Biting & Turkey Day
Magdalena,” which is the inaugural date of the series “Fishing in the Five – 2023-2024” this coming November 25 and 26 in Puerto San Carlos, with a guaranteed purse of 500,000 pesos for Dorado and Marlin species.
Registration will take place on Saturday in the public square of Puerto San Carlos from 12 to 7 pm with a registration cost of 6,000 thousand pesos per team of up to four fishermen. The Gastronomic Expo, where local merchants offer a wide variety of regional dishes, will take place simultaneously.

Two Bisbee Teams Score Millions
Jakob Gonterman, an angler on Team Stella June, hooked a Black Marlin and landed it on Thursday, Day One at 3:00 p.m. It was the first fish to come to the scale during the Tournament. On Saturday night, the Tournament Awards presented the Team a check in the amount of $4.4 Million, exceeding that of the $3.9 record of “Bad Company” in 2006. This check is the largest written in the history of the Bisbee tournaments.
Small dorado swarming, hundreds released
Drifting with squid strips has been the most effective way, especially if you have plenty of it for chum. We recommend 4 to 5 kilos of squid per boat for a chance at multiple gigantic fish. Some boats have arrived from the Gordo with two or three 100-pound tuna per day, and most are pushing the mark.

We also had one weighing 130 pounds landed on Pisces 31’ Ruthless (it was the Top Boat for three consecutive weeks)!
1st Juanico Offshore Fishing Tournament
The yellowfin tuna caught throughout the week were the attention-getters in size and quantity, and adding a little variety were the skipjack that were tagging along with the larger tuna. The skipjack were content to feast on the scraps of bait that the tuna missed.
