Not all fishing trips are all about fishing. Gonzaga Bay getaway was a blast with friends Chris and Gary while staying at Bob Kamoo’s “Casa Pescador” bayside rental trailer. What a view and so convenient. Right at the ramp. We had a great captain with Juan Cook, had our fish filleted, vacuum packed, and frozen for the trip home by Juan’s wife, and enjoyed fantastic yellowtail sashimi and cocktails at sunset, and dinners at Papa Fernandez Camp … and what a monster breakfast! on the way home today in San Felipe. I highly recommend Kamoo’s place and of course our Capt. Juan. The best…Pat McDonell

Whale Watch Season Begins
The season’s opening trip was terrific in Laguna Ojo de Liebre! There were many whale moms and babies and mating trios to see. Of course, they were still a bit shy, but we saw a bit of everything – breaching, spy hopping, courtship, and those cute little newborns! I’d say we saw about 30 whales in front of our camp.

Snook and White Sea Bass at Lopez Mateos plus wahoo outside!
Striped Marlin, Wahoo and dorado at Los Cabos is just the beginning of the fishy Thanksgiving we expect…
Yahoo Wahoo a Snapping
The week started out calm, with three nice days, before the wind from the north blew Thursday through Saturday. Until the wind slowed the bite, great action for wahoo was reported on the grounds to the north of Punta Gorda, as wahoo were hitting on trolled Rapalas and various bait. Most fish averaged 25 to 35-pounds, though one wahoo weighed over 60 pounds. Some morning charters landed as many as four wahoo.
