Big Baja Fish in June…You Bet!
Quite a few fish were released in the 20 to 50-pound class. The beach off La Capilla is a hot spot, and Rincon Bay has been producing some big roosters. We are getting Tube Mackerel (Chili Willys), a deadly bait for the roosters!

Mex ONE 48 Years Old!
Yellowtail fishing has been solid for medium-sized yellows at the San Bruno reef. Live mackerel gets fished the most for yellowtail and usually gets the best results. Blue and white iron chuckers have also been doing well on the smaller, 12-pounders.
The “hot talk” is about taking the long ride north to hammer the big yellows at Pulpito and the Almejas rock piles. “Let’s go, let’s go” doesn’t mean the fish are hitting the decks, but the time of year is pointing in that direction. As soon as the Christmas tourist rush is over, we should be seeing more big yellows coming in from up north.

Baja Fall Action Continues
What a day for Pisces 66′ Viking Friday Bank Angler Malia Evans told us about her day, “We had three generations of family aboard. We caught seven dorado and one marlin released! Plus, one of the dorado had a baby turtle in its mouth when we caught it. We were able to revive the baby turtle and release it, and it swam off strong.”
Memories to last a lifetime; that’s what it’s all about.
Stripers Reappear at Magdalena Bay
Dorado had been the mainstay for the last couple of weeks, but they became scarcer this past week. Scattered fish averaged 10 to 15-pounds. Wahoo were harder to find than dorado. Early in the week, several wahoo, close to 40-pounds, were brought in, with others lost as well. Then through the rest of the week, these fish were not biting. We are optimistic that the wahoo will become more active as conditions come into shape, as this is their typical peak season.
Bisbee Black and Blue awards its 20th OVER A MILLION DOLLAR CHECK
This year’s Bisbees was a historical one any way you put it. Not only was it the largest pot of monies ever, 9.8 Million Dollars total (more than doubling last year’s pot of $4 Million). But it was also a historical day for Pisces, as it is the 1st time we have won 1st Place in the Black & Blue Tournament (well there was one other time when 28′ Karina placed and then…. well that’s a different story).
Not only this, but we were pleased to see another local charter boat take 2nd place, and that both winning teams were outfitted by local Captains and Mates.
